Hello,
I played last time with Motronic MP3.1 ECU from european Citroën
ZX and it looks to be KW71 compatible and communication is similar
to KWP-1281. I encountered some new block titles I don't know so if
anyone could help me with them I would be pleased
OK, here it is. Initialization is made with byte 10h at 5 baud
on line "L", ECU responds at 9600 with 55h and after 60ms with ABh
and 02h (keywords), tester acknowledges last byte.
Next, ECU is sending following block:
0Dh 01h F6h 32h 31h 32h 30h 30h 32h 31h 36h 32h 30h 03h
which translates to "2120021620" what stands for Bosch number "0
261 200 212". Please note that byte order within ASCII data blocks
is reversed, first comes least significant byte. Tester acknowledges
this block by sending:
03h 02h 09h 03h
Next, ECU is sending block:
0Dh 03h F6h 33h 32h 37h 36h 35h 33h 37h 36h 32h 31h 03h
which is "1267356723" - number printed on EPROM chip label
(probably software serial number or something like this). Tester
acknowledges. Next, there is chatter between ECU and tester with
250ms interval - the same as in VAG protocol.
Fault codes are retrieved this way - tester sends:
03h 94h 07h 03h
ECU replies with:
04h 95h FCh 00h 03h (no errors stored)
Faults are cleared this way - tester sends:
03h A0h 05h 03h
ECU replies with:
03h A1h 09h 03h (what acknowledges last block)
Until now everything is familiar to me and looks identical to
VAG protocol. But here comes unknown block titles. First example -
when I enter on my tester to test injectors it sends to the ECU:
04h A2h 04h 0Eh 03h
ECU acknowledges this block normally:
03h A3h 09h 03h
Next unknown block when I'm retrieving engine RPM - tester sends:
06h A4h 01h 01h 00h 3Bh 03h
ECU replies with:
04h A5h FEh 00h 03h (0 RPM on tester display)
Battery voltage - tester sends:
04h A6h 08h 01h 03h
ECU replies with:
05h A7h FBh 00h C6h 03h (voltage on tester display is 13.4V)
Coolant temperature - tester sends:
04h A8h 08h 03h 03h
ECU replies with:
05h A9h FBh 00h FFh 03h (temp. on display is -33C or -32C -
I don't remember now)
Could anybody help me explain meaning of such blocks ?
Best regards,
Sebcio
