Oli, 1990 ax GT (uk)

Post by Oli »

Hello, my name is Oli, from Cambridge in lovely (not) England. How is everyone here? I thought you might be interested to see another car from the UK. This one is in lovely conditition as I'm sure you will agree. Tried to sell on ebay a few weeks ago, sold for ?1010 but buyer never paid! :( so i am keeping it for a bit longer, storing it in a barn as i never use it sadly.

hi, very nice car, i like the carbureturs, and no rust that's wicked! Even my ax has rust on that place('97)...

What kind of engine is this?(as I can't seperate the engine's from one another)...

greetings,

Sander

The engine sure looks great! , and i see a very clever custom intake manifold which allows it to use a proper airfilter instead of the dreadfull stock airfilter which is positioned between the carburattors and the firewall.

Welcome Oli, the action of the buyer is not cool, but the ax sure looks cool, how can't you pay for a good looking ax like that :?

engineroom looks clean and dry, (that's really rare)

read along on the forum and give some more info about your GT.

Why would you never use a car like that?!

Fortunately for you, I have the perfect solution. Put the car on a boat, send it to me and I'll make sure it gets its daily exercise ;) :P

Cant drive it as i am at university, and can not afford parking. 140 euro a month parking! Its going in a barn/garage soon from christmas until summer 2007.

The engine is actually original, except the weber carburettors which are 36 IDF's. Original cam, exhaust, just skimmed head 2mm.
Its on 54000 miles, thats about 95000 km? So thats why its nice and clean.
original seats are back in, I sold the Cobra seats, so inside is original aswell.
Anything more you would like to know? Are there many other AX's here with weber carburettors not sports?
Theres not much room under the bonnet to fit good air filters on, I wanted much bigger filters, i tried to fit these lol

There's no translation feature but most Dutch people can read English pretty well so you should be fine. There's some AXes with dual carbs, but you won't come across one every day (alright, except by owning one maybe ;)).

What's all these extra buttons on the dashboard?

the extra flick switches are for the electric fuel pump i have mounted in the engine, and for an override switch for the radiator fan. But, I found I dont need to use the electric fuel pump as the original mechanical fuel pump works just fine with the dual carbs, so i dont use it.

Welcome to the ax club in the Netherlands.

What a fine looking ax you have got there. Oh, I am afraid that I am a bit jealous

I don't get the buyer. Who would refuse to pay for an AX like yours???

i take the notice that many ax-clubbers call people from the UK 'Mate'
but isn't that too much "pirates of the carribean" ?

YAR YAR

i think 'Friend' is better..

but besides of that we all try to speak most regular english :D
