hi,

I never heard about a hole in the piston.. but that could be cause the valve's else hit the piston?? (which offcourse they shouldn't) some ax engine's already have that..

you will need to change your inlet and exhaust, in case of a injection engine, you will need to chip your car else it won't fill the cylinder.

a 316degrees cam is no use on the open road.. you won't be able to drive slowly.. cause the engine "won't" run under 3000rpm..

true.

but you won't need to change your pistons with a 316 cam.. at least that's what I've been told.

You have to change your whole head though, have it ported. it won't even run decently with an oe head.

and also, it won't be driveable, that's pure race.. only for 6000 - 8500 rpm for example

my cam is also pretty absurd.. but still driveable..

a 316 is even hard to drive on circuit.. you're engine won't hold..

hi ,

know i have 284 of PIPER ' and the cam power belt is from 2500 to 6500

and the car driveen very good in any situation ,

i think that the specific expression of this is "eyes on the piston"

and i think that in abroad all the people did that and what iwm talking about....

anyway , in this cam' you must do this eye's or either you will bend all the valves..

from experiences of 2 friends of my that also think that only better valve spring will do the work ,

but they surprised when they go to 8000-8500-9000 rpm , the broke the valve.

i didn't say that the block can stand up in this pressure so ignore from this data.

so , no one ever did this project??

and again thank for all the time :)

i forgot to write , the head have proting stage 2 ' with oversize pass. somting like 40+_

There was an english guy who ran a 310 in a GT carb engine (1360cc, double webers).

The car only started to run decently after 4000 rpm, and went totally mad after 6500 :D

big fun... but you only wanna use that on a circuit with long straights.

Also, idling at 1750 isn't too relaxed and I don't even wanna know about your mileage with a 316

Honestly, I don't think it's a good idea. Better swap your engine for a 16V with head work and a set of cams. It'll deliver more power and run smoother at lower revs, so you'll have a wider powerband and extreme power & at extreme revs. I don't think 9000 rpm will be a problem with a driveable engine.

I know someone who runs a Vauxhall 2.0 16V engine with cams and lots of other tuning. Idles quite ok, is driveable in low revs and pulls right up to 9500...

but for my big problem you didnt answer.

dose anybody know how to do this project in the piston??

i know in 100% that the valves will crush in the original setup/
