Via de CitSportSite kreeg ik een vraag uit Croatie.
Ene Drazen is aldaar zijn AX SPORT aan het tunen en had wat vraagjes.
Wellicht dat iemand van jullie hem kan helpen??

and have some questions about some mods on the ax.

question about exhaust manifold,
I own ax sport GT 1281 ccm, 69 kw (in serial version) from 1988,

well, my mechanic has done some tuning,
my "head" was skimmed,polished, drilled in conus (some extra holes), block was skimmed, valves were "cutted" & polished,
he has done something eith cam, new set of pistons, cylinders & rings were bought, pistons were lightened,
& some things what my mechanic didn't want to say what he was doing

(spitz pistons were bora 75 (I only now that original from 1.4 GT didn't match),
2 double webers 40 DCOM 10/11,
after some tuning easily goes to 8500 rpm, with some luck even to 10000 rpm, compression is 14. )

Now I have problem with exhaust manifold,
I have some (I think) serial manifold with pipe fi 60 with whom lately I have problems, already 2 times I had to weld it
(it "broke" with a bang - don't know words to explain ti)
& some troubles with lower rpm (below 2500 rpm),
some popping (mild detonations) & not evenly work.
well I saw on your site this;
"a nice exhaustpipe was found (Peco DTM with 2 x 76mm pipes (originally ment for Opel Kadett GSi). It was placed in the center of the bottom. The forward part of the exhaustpipe was replaced by an AX SPORT pipe since it fitted better to the spaghetti "

I didn't quite understand that part with 2 pipes, spaghetti???
do you mean 4-1 exhaust manifold??
so can I put 75 or 80 mm exhaust manifold???
what is your idling jet, on mine DCOM carbs is 50 but mechanic says it should be 58
but is not 100% sure, other kind of jets are 140 (I heard on DCOE is 134)

So if you could be so kind to help me?

also have problem with gears lately, actually with second gear and some wheelspin, so can you advice me how to prewent power loss because of transmission, what gearbox could I put that I can gain on acceleration, on some sites I even saw they installed diesel gearbox, pug 106, saxo vts was mentioned...

Pfjoe, hij weet niet wat een spaghetti is geloof ik.... Een link terugsturen van EPS of een leverancier van die Spaghetti :lol:

Maar zonder gekheid dat probleem had ik ook met mijn Sport dat het Spruitstuk afscheurde :roll:
